Monda Lodge Hostel
Monda Lodge is a residential aged care facility with the capacity to accommodate 29 permanent residents.
The hostel is made up of three houses, with ten bedrooms each with ensuite. There is a separate kitchen, lounge and dining room in each house, all of which are designed around the philosophy of a 'homelike' environment.
Bedroom furniture is provided on request, however, residents are encouraged to bring their own to make them feel at home.
Each lounge room contains comfortable chairs, coffee tables, television, video player and stereo. Residents may have a private telephone in their room. A television aerial connection is available in the room for private television viewing.
Meals, including morning and afternoon tea, are prepared on the premises and are served in the dining room. Residents have access to the kitchen at any time for snacks and drinks. Residents who are able to prepare their own breakfast may do so if they wish.
Monda Lodge Hostel staff are appropriately qualified and are on duty at all times.
Family and friends are welcome any time, there are no visiting restrictions. A wonderful group of volunteers provide support and entertainment and often accompany residents on outings. The hostel bus is used for trips to shopping centres, the beach and various local venues through the year. Musical performers visit regularly, including local school groups.
Residents at Monda Lodge are encouraged to maintain their independence and continue their involvement in community and social activities.
Monda Lodge Hostel is accredited by the Aged Care Standards & Accreditation Agency.
