- drummond street is here to help individuals, couples and families negotiate and celebrate the many transitions that occur right across the family life course. These may include negotiating adolescence and achieving independence, intimate relationships, partnerships, new babies, parenting – and challenges like separation and divorce, re-partnering, being part of a stepfamily, caring for elderly parents and other issues that life can throw at us like gambling, drug and alcohol problems, mental illness and family violence. We have specialized, qualified workers who are experienced in working with these challenges.

drummond street also auspices the National Stepfamilies Association and can offer specialized counselling, groups for couples and children and training for other professionals in this area.

Fees? Health Care Card holders are seen at no charge and for others there is a sliding scale based on income.

Who can we benefit? - Anyone - we all, at some stage belong to a family, we negotiate relationships with friends, we manage the stresses of paid work or caring for children, we live in communities. drummond street can help individuals, couples and families of all types and of all ages and cultures. We recognise that families do change over time – it™s not about success or failure, it™s about getting assistance through the tough times and achieving healthy outcomes for all concerned.
