Making and taking major decisions can have unexpected and perhaps undesirable consequences on our health, those close to us, our finances, and upon our career. Our clients appreciate the safe and confidential rational space that we provide in which they may consider their options. Often our clients are unable to envision options that our philosophical counsellors may perhaps see as worthwhile possibilities for consideration.
We endeavour to enable our clients to make well reasoned and informed decisions. This method should not be confused with psychological counselling which aims to correct a mental disturbance. Philosophical counselling employs knowledge, reason and imagination toward the resolution of issues that an individual, a family or a group may be facing.
Consulting a philosophical counsellor is akin to discussing issues in good faith with a trusted, knowledgeable and wise elder.

What do philosophers do?
Philosophers are highly skilled experts in clear thinking. They use reason (logic) to analyse (pull apart) complex issues - which they may have researched - so as to draw logical and grounded conclusions. They may also be experts on ethics (right and wrong) and on the most important issue: human existence.
What is practical philosophy?
Philosophy is the study of the various kinds of things that exist in the universe (including human beings); how we know and what we know about their nature; and – given what we know – what we ought to do to have a good life. The aim of practical philosophy (applied philosophy) is to address everyday issues using superior reasoning skills - and ethically - in order to secure a fulfilling life for ourselves as individuals and good living conditions for humanity.
