Community Occupational Therapists

Living to the Max provides quality occupational therapy services to all members of the community. We specialise in adult intervention. We are based in Adelaide, South Australia and service the suburbs of greater Adelaide and beyond.

Our Occupational Therapists are able to assist people of all ages to perform tasks important to them. We assess the person, the environment and the task to make recommendations to enable each individual to do the things they want and need to do in life.

Our team of Occupational Therapists has a wide variety of expertise and interests. We provide services to health care facilities, individuals, private businesses and public organisations in the following streams:

• Activities of daily living (ADL) assessments and rehabilitation, e.g. personal care
• Assessment for home/building modifications including disabled access, e.g. rails and ramps
• Education regarding health, illness and disabilities including carer education, e.g. activity analysis and pacing
• Home safety assessments including bathroom safety, e.g. modifications to reduce falls
• Individual home based functional rehabilitation, e.g. meal planning and preparation
• Locum work, e.g. hospital units and departments
• Medico-legal ADL assessments and intervention, e.g. injured workers or drivers
• Mobility and transfer assessments, e.g. bed, chair and car transfers, walking aid reviews
• Prescription of aids and equipment to increase independence and safety, e.g. tap turners, personal alarms
• Specialised wheelchair and seating assessments, e.g. power wheelchairs with custom seating
• Training including manual handling for work and home environments, e.g. manual handling plans
• Workplace consultancy including ergonomic assessments, e.g. workstation reviews

We also specialise in the care of clients with complex needs through:

• Falls prevention programs and other collaborative allied health initiatives
• General OT assessments for the purpose of facilitating commencement of CACP's, EACH packages and TCP's
• Incontinence management
• Participation in rehabilitation based Community Transition Programs
• Periodic reviews
• Pre-admission assessment and preparation for elective procedures
• Pressure care management
