WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY
A ‘holistic’ form of hands on therapy, which influence the way the body works. It recognises that one problem area not only impacts on its own ability to function but also on the other regions of the body as well. Osteopathy respects the body’s natural ability to self-regulate & heal. It works with the body’s
- Muscles, bones, joints & connective tissue
- Internal organs
- Nerves
- Fluid channels via lymphatic & circulatory systems
WHAT DO OSTEOPATHS DO
Overall, Osteopaths address imbalances, which are compromising your ability to achieve optimal health. We place a large emphasis on determining where your problem is coming from and then help you to identify the factors potentially contributing to your pain.
Osteopaths simply act as the facilitator, by ‘nudging’ the body to function with complete balance from head to toe. It is therefore not uncommon for multiple areas of the body to be treated, including those away from the site of pain.
Osteopaths often refer & work in conjunction with other health care professionals as well as provide specific & basic exercises where appropriate.
