Assessment
Carrying out a full assessment of your child’s speech, language and communication needs gives you a good picture of his/ her strengths and weaknesses. Communicate It provides you with the information to make an informed decision about if and what intervention is needed.
Speech Pathology Intervention
Speech Pathology support is integral to those with speech, language or communication difficulties. At Communicate It we strive to provide a balance of learning and fun to ensure that your child’s experience is positive both in terms of actual outcomes and enjoyment.
Cellfield
Cellfield is a breakthrough treatment in addressing the needs of students with reading disorders. It is a computer based reading program that follows a multi-causal approach, activating auditory, visual and motor pathways simultaneously.
Fast ForWord
FastForWord is an effective computer-based intervention for individuals with language and literacy difficulties. It has also been shown to be useful for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Individuals have been shown to improve significantly in their language and/ or literacy scores on formal testing following the use of Fast ForWord programs.
Schools
At Communicate It we are experienced in providing a range of services to primary and secondary schools (State, Catholic and Independent). Services can include: assessments for funding applications, screening whole classes, individual intervention, group intervention, consultancy and professional development for staff. We hope to add services to rural and remote schools by teleconference, videoconference and e-learning modalities in the near future.
Groups
At Communicate It, we also run group sessions to address literacy, language or social communication goals when appropriate. Group intervention aims to allow your child to understand their and others’ strengths and weaknesses in a supportive environment.
