Association of Personal Counsellors

The APC was established in Sydney in 1993. Membership has broadened to include counsellors from Sydney, regional NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Members are required to adhere to APC’s code of ethics and to practice under supervision. Training is accepted from a wide range of modalities consistent with the training standards specified by PACFA.

In a profession where practitioners can be isolated, APC provides a place to belong where support, networking and professional development are available. APC has established regional groups for this purpose.

APC members work with a broad range of client issues including grief and loss, relationships, spiritual issues, integration of faith and life, recovery from trauma and abuse, life transitions and difficulties caused by addictions. Members work in a variety of settings, the majority in private practice and some with organisations such as Anglicare and Lifeline.
