General Practice Network NT Ltd (GPNNT)
The mission statement of the General Practice Network NT Ltd (GPNNT) is 'to strengthen general practice to improve health'. The mission is under-pinned by five key values of Respect, Engagement, Quality, Integrity, and being Proactive (REQIP)
The mission is further reinforced through the statement of beliefs and principles of the Division
1. General Practice is pivotal in health care
2. General Practitioners are essential members of the primary health care team
3. Consumers and community engagement is essential
4. Strengthening Primary Health care will improve health
5. Divisions make a positive contribution to general practice and the primary health care team
6. General Practice has a key role in population health
7. Access and equity are core and central to health outcomes
8. Divisions have a responsibility to advocate for health
The Division conducts projects/programs and other activities to enhance General Practice involvement in improving health and health care systems in the Northern Territory.
The Division supports a practice principals' network, practice managers' forum and practice nurses forum, an Aboriginal Mental Health Worker Forum, a multidisciplinary Birth Forum and a Pharmacy Forum (in partnership with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia). These activities offer the opportunity for discussion and peer support across the general practice and primary health care arena.
