Active Ageing Australia promotes physical activity for a lifetime of health and well-being. Physical activity enriches our lives by supporting our ability to maintain and continue independent, healthy lifestyles, and participate in and contribute to the community.

Our training programs include:

Easy Moves for Active Ageing (EMA®)
  • A safe and effective physical activity program for active ageing
  • A 2-day leader training program for a variety of health care settings
  • Caters for the needs of less active older people in residential care facilities and the community
  • EMAA leaders are Physiotherapy Assistants, Diversional Therapists, Community Health workers, Activity Coordinators, Rehabilitation Assistants and Fitness Leaders

NoFalls Leader

  • A 1-day leader training program for Exercise Leaders aimed at reducing the incidence of falls in the community
  • Based on research conducted by Monash University Accident Research Centre
  • A series of exercises focused on strength, mobility and balance
  • Suitable for Fitness Leaders, Physiotherapy Assistants and those with experience in leading exercise classes with older people

Chi Ball Gentle Moves

  • A 2-day leader training course
  • using a Chi Ball to assist flexibility and mobility.

Falls Prevention in SA Website

Active Ageing Australia maintains the website www.fallssa.com.au, which contains information for the general public, health professionals and aged care workers on falls prevention.
