Providing financial support for cancer patients

Stars with Heart aim is to make it possible for all cancer patients to be able to afford the extra financial burden a cancer diagnosis can impose. We believe the only question that a cancer patient should face is what will give them the best health outcome and not what can they afford? We also do not want to have to keep hearing about cancer patients refusing treatment as the whole idea of being so in debt and facing what that means to their families is just to much.

If you believe like Stars with Heart that a cancer diagnosis is quite devestating enough without then worrying about how you are going to pay for the extra scans, treatment costs and not being able to work then please get behind us.

Whilst we are only new we are very credible and have DGR status so donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible. However, as little as $1.00 from every person living in Australia would make a huge difference.

We are working with the Cancer Council New South Wales Financial and Legal Referral Program (our money does not go to any other area of the Cancer Council NSW) and CAN Assist to ensure there is assistance available in New South Wales (and hopefully in the future with your assistance Nationally) for all cancer patients.

Why two charities because CAN Assist has a brilliant finacial support service available but it is only for those who live in the rural areas. However, the Cancer Council NSW Financial and Legal Referral Program is available to everyone in New South Wales but presently they offer probon legal advice and support, and financial counselling but should you have a bill that needs to be paid they have a strict limit of $250 per cancer patient that is a one off payment. Which we all know is nowhere near enough.

So Stars with Heart is working with both of these organisations to bolster and improve the services they have on offer to help develop a National financial support program for cancer patients.

So please get behind us and earn a zillion karma points, get a great tax deduction and know you have helped a cancer patient in the most practical way possible.
