The most practical way to accurately determine whether your microwave ovens are within these guidelines is to have them tested using an advanced microwave survey meter calibrated by a recognised laboratory. Small leakage detectors used by many electricians should not be used as they do not comply with Australian Standard guidelines. Testing is often undertaken as part of an organisation’s Risk Management or Preventative Maintenance program.
