General Practitioners to work in Australia



General Practitioner positions in Australia are available to highly motivated and dedicated medical practitioners.

Employer preference is given to doctors with recognised postgraduate qualifications in general practice or family medicine, plus a minimum of three (3) years of full-time postgraduate GP experience.

Doctors who do not hold postgraduate GP qualifications must have at least five (5) years of full-time general practice experience plus completion of the AMCMCQ.

Please note that experience obtained predominantly in hospital emergency and outpatient departments, hospital inpatient care or as part of internship or residency is not generally considered to meet the criteria of GP experience for employment in Australia.
