Coastal Queensland is known for pristine beaches, tropical islands, lush rainforests, and vibrant cities. The Great Barrier Reef, one of the world's largest reef systems, stretches for over 2,600 kilometres from Torres Strait to Fraser Island.

Successful applicants must be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with Medical Board of Australia, and possess:

• at least 2 to 3 years full time experience in one of the relevant disciplines
• highly developed clinical skills
• demonstrated skill in reviewing, analysing and evaluating patient care
• demonstrated knowledge of current medical practices and issues
• high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds
  
• the ability to maintain accurate and complete medical records - clinical, administrative and statistical
• a commitment to participation in on-going educational activities
• sound theoretical knowledge, practical skills and ethical behaviour required of a medical practitioner
• a dedication to compliance and utilisation of contemporary human resource management practices, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies
