South West Healthcare, Warrnambool Hospital Campus, is currently undergoing a major capital redevelopment which will increase its bed capacity from 155 to 178.   South West Healthcare provides a wide range of inpatient and community based services and is the referral centre for South West Victoria.  South West Healthcare treats in excess of 15,000 inpatients and 24,000 emergency department patients per annum and is a designated Regional Trauma Service.  South West Healthcare hosts a rural clinical school of the Deakin University Medical School.  South West Healthcare also has a close involvement in the Deakin University Centre for Rural Emergency Medicine.
