Dermatologists in Australia complete their training and assessment with the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Fellows of the College use the post-nominal identification FACD.
Some dermatologists undertake additional post-Fellowship training in areas such as cosmetic dermatology, laser therapy and paediatric dermatology.
The qualifications of dermatologists trained in other countries are assessed in accordance with the procedures set out by the Australian Medical Council.
