Doctor Stephen Morris is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and his practice is situated at 135 Macquarie Street in Sydney.

Dr Morris will advise and encourage you during every step of your pregnancy, from your first visit to your birth and beyond and he will work with you to implement your own birth plan.

Whether your preference is for a natural or clinical birth, Stephen is one of the few obstetricians in Sydney who offers a water-birth option, and his work in high-risk obstetrics offers a reassurance few can match.

Stephen is currently a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He has appointments at North Shore Private Hospital, the Mater Hospital and at Prince of Wales Hospital, so you can choose the environment and facilities that meet your needs.

Doctor Morris provides an empathetic and professional support for women during pregnancy and childbirth.

All natural births are supported including water births, vaginal twin births, and external cephalic version for breech presentations at term. Doctor Morris also performs operative obstetrics including instrumental deliveries and caesarean sections when necessary.

He works in conjunction with couples to facilitate and encourage a successful and happy birth process. Other health care professionals are encouraged to be involved when required or requested.

Dr. Morris has a midwife, Belinda.

His consulting rooms contain the latest equipment, including a four-dimensional ultrasound, and colposcopy.

All practice files are kept electronically.

Doctor Morris incorporates his great experience, his interest in high-risk obstetrics and understanding of birth, into supporting the birth experience of every couple.

Doctor Morris commenced private practice in 2002, after having previously worked as a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a staff specialist with an interest in high-risk obstetrics.

Doctor Morris’ undergraduate years were spent at the University of Sydney with a residence at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and a senior registrar year at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, where he obtained membership of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists . He then worked overseas for four years, starting in Dublin with two years at the National Maternity Hospital and the Rotunda, then moving to London for one year while working at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital. The following year he worked in Paris at Hospital Cochin.

Doctor Morris is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and he is a training supervisor for registrars in obstetrics and gynaecology. Doctor Morris is both mentor and teacher to medical students.
