Dr. Gopalan Poovalingam is a gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology. He has been appointed as a staff specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sunshine Hospital to provide both general gynaecological and urogynaecological services to the women of Western Melbourne. 
Dr. Gopalan is qualified as MBBS, MOG, FRANZCOG. He has more than 10 years experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. He has completed 3 years of urogynaecology training, partly in Townsville, Australia under a world renowned urogynaecologist, Professor Ajay Rane. Besides urogynae and pelvic reconstructive surgery, he also has interest in minimal invasive surgery having obtained training in advanced laparoscopic surgery with a leading laparoscopic surgeon, Professor Chyi-Long Lee in Taiwan.
All gynaecological and urogynaecological referrals are welcome for concerns such as:

Major surgeries and in-patient care for privately insured and self paying patients will be arranged through The Essendon Private Hospital and John Fawkner Private Hospital.
