Glenn Austen Myotherapy

Glenn Austen is trained in myotherapy at the highest avaliable level, completing the 4 yr Bachelor of health science - Myotherapy.

Myo translated means muscle, myotherapy is the natural healthcare system designed to maintain the correct functioning and health of the muscular system.

Providing the assessment, management, rehabilitation and treatment of any condition or symptom related to the muscular system.

Glenn uses a variety of treatment options based on what is best suited for each individual. The different modalities of physical therapy Glenn can provide each have their own specific purpose, these include;

Trigger point therapy - Manually releasing trigger points (commonly known as knots) provides relief of pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, and tightness providing full function back to the muscle as if it were brand new.

Massage techniques - Used to promote oxygenated blood flow into your muscles.

Dry Needling - Fine acupucture like needles are inserted into trigger points providing an alternative treatment option, because the needles are so fine they don't stimulate as many nerve fibres as manual pressure, making it very comfortable.

Joint mobilization - This technique can be applied to the extremities and spine, after releasing the muscles surrounding a joint, Glenn can use gentle mobilizing techiques to align the spine and relieve joint dysfunctions.

Exercise and Stretching prescription - After Glenn has restored your muscular state, it is important to prevent any problem from reoccuring. With the help of exercises to strengthen areas and stretching, it is easy to help yourself stay pain free.

Cupping - Suction cups are fantastic for chronic conditions working to remove muscle tension and clean your muscles.
