What is Cooinda Lodge?

Cooinda Lodge is a 60 bed high care level residential aged care facility, situated in Warragul.

How do I book in?

Admissions to Cooinda are managed by a Waiting List Committee, comprising of aged care specialists. An assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team is required.

What are the fees?

Fees are set by the Department of Health and Ageing. Fee are increased twice yearly on the 20th of March and September. It is preferable that all fees are direct debited from your account and at least 14 days notice will be provided prior to any increases occurring. For further information, appointments can be made with the Assistant D.O.N. (03) 5623 0769.

Can I still see my own Doctor?

You are able to have the doctor of your choice. Specialist referrals maybe made by your Doctor in consultation with you, if or when required.

What about my medication?

Cooinda Lodge has a contract with a local Pharmacy. An account is sent to you or the person responsible for payment of your accounts. Your Doctor will provide prescriptions for you.

How long can I stay?

In most cases accommodation is permanent. Occasionally a change in medical or physical condition may result in a resident being more suitably cared for at another facility. Decisions of this nature are only made after consultation with you &/or your relative, Doctor and Clinical Nurse Manger.
