Sally Garrard

Sally's interest in sports nutrition began when she was competing nationally as a lightweight rower. The rowing was soon replaced with a love of triathlons (due to the cross-training for rowing!) and this has been her favoured sport ever since. She now competes in Olympic distance triathlons and will occasionally throw in a half-ironman for good measure.

Sally's dietetic career began in research, where she investigated Caffeine use in elite athletes. Following this, she started consulting to various personal training groups around Brisbane, as well as working for some years at a weight management clinic. After this, she spent a year travelling overseas, returning home to become the regional nutrition provider for the Queensland Academy of Sport.

Sally consults exclusively to the athletes from Tennis Australia, Diving Australia, the Queensland Academy of Sport, and also to the Australian Sports Commission - working with the National Sporting Officials, a program supporting our nations most up & coming sporting officials and referees. She is the founder and director of Apple to Zucchini: Sports Nutrition, a team of passionate and experienced sports dietitians, who create individualised meal plans for the everyday athlete.
