Stephens & Bradley Forensic & Clinical Psychological Service

Stephens & Bradley employs a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) treatment approach that aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and cognitions through a goal-oriented, systematic procedure. Essentially we focus on the "here and now" in alleviating psychological distress, whilst appreciating that life experiences contribute to our understanding of 'the world', our beliefs about how 'the 'world' is, and how 'we' are expected to behave in 'it'.

Our forensic services include clinical neuropsychological assessment, fitness to plead assessment, offender risk/needs analysis, behaviour modification programs and forensice psychological reports.

Our clinical services include treatment and assessement in anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, traumatic incident therapy, clinical psychological reports.

The cost of treatment sessions is usually lower than that recommended by the Australian Psychological Society. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Accepted forms of payment include direct electronic funds transfer, cash and cheque. If your financial situation makes it difficult to pay the 'Medicare gap' please speak to your treating psychologist, as Stephens & Bradley do have policy for our clients experiencing financial difficulties and hardship.

Under the Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan, you need to have attended your GP and received a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Medicare covers a maximum of 12 sessions per calendar year if you have a referral (Mental Health Treatment Plan) from your GP.  If you already have a MHTP referral to another clinician you can change to seeing a clinician at Stephens & Bradley without getting another plan, provided you bring a copy of the referral with you to your appointment.

The cost of a report varies and is dependent upon the nature of the report, and the time required to conduct the assessment and complete the report.
