The responsibilities of the organisation are set out in the Aged Care Act 1997, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018 and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 2018.
An important role of the Commission is the investigation of complaints where an approved provider is not meeting their responsibilities under the Aged Care Act 1997. If required, it can provide access to an interpreter service and TTY 1800 555 677.
