Interchange WA

Since 1991, Interchange has supported West Australians with disability to achieve their goals through individualised, local community-based support that sows the seeds for a fulfilling life.

We subscribe to the social model of disability and the view that disability is caused by the way that society is organised, rather than by a person's impairment or difference. This model looks at ways of removing barriers that restrict life choices for people with disability.

To support this model, our staff don't wear uniforms and our vehicles aren't branded. We believe that this encourages people in the community to see the person first, rather than their disability.

To facilitate flexibility and strong local community connection, Interchange operates through seven local Centres located in Midland, Maddington, Osborne Park, Myaree, Spearwood, Rockingham and Mandurah. Our Centres can provide support anywhere in the metro area.

We have a fleet of more than 75 vehicles, including 40 with wheelchair access. Around the clock, we pick up, drop off and transport customers to and from home, work, school and community activities.

Interchange services are mainly provided on a 1:1 basis, but we can also service 1:2 where customers share similar goals and abilities.
