An exciting and rare opportunity is open within the Whitehorse City Council Home and Community Care Department for an Occupational Therapist (OT) Gr 2
(Limited tenure until 30 June 2020).

Whitehorse City Council supports consumers over 65 eligible for Commonwealth Home Support Programme and consumers under 65 eligible for Home & Community Care Program for Younger People. The OT will be working within the wellness and enablement framework together within the dedicated team of Home and Community Care.

This position will be responsible for facilitation of timely access to the services provided by the Whitehorse City Council Home & Community Care Department by appropriate OT interventions to support eligible consumers living in the community.

Whitehorse City Council Home and Community department has a long standing and strong working relationship with Carrington Health previously known as Whitehorse Health. The OT will work towards maintaining and further strengthening working relationships and partnerships between Whitehorse City Council and Carrington Health to support building the capacity of the Whitehorse HACC team in delivering quality services within the person-centred, capacity building approach.

The OT will utilise their skills and experience to support HACC staff skills development and participate in development and delivery of group programs that are focused on building clients capacity to remain living in the community.

An ideal candidate will have Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) qualifications with substantial clinical experience with a passion for quality client outcomes within a capacity building, wellness and enablement frameworks.
