Commonwealth Carer Resource Centres

Commonwealth Carer Resource Centres are operated by Carers Associations in each State and Territory.

Services include:

  • providing carers with referrals to community and government services
  • practical written information to support them in their caring role (eg support services, home help, financial entitlements and legal matters)
  • emotional support
  • educational and training opportunities for carers and service providers
  • counselling service

A Carer Support Kit is available free of charge in 13 languages. In addition to general information, it addresses issues such as taking care of yourself, managing health care and medications, loss and grief and an Emergency Care Kit. An Indigenous Kit is also available.
