Support by telephone and mail.
Give non-medical advice to people about sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, how it is diagnosed, how it is treated and the phone numbers of Sleep Units in their area. Advice and information are provided by telephone, e-mail and by mailing of brochures and newsletters. There is no charge for this service, SDA sees it as part of meeting its objects.

Bi-monthly Newsletter.
Distributed to all members and to a complimentary list of Medical Professionals and Libraries. Several thousand are also distributed to Sleep Units, both public and private, for patient information.

Buddy System.
A Buddy System Database is maintained in all States. Putting new CPAP users in contact with more experienced users during the difficult initial period of treatment.

Meetings and Seminars.
Meetings and seminars are held on a regular basis to provide information on developments in our understanding of sleep disorders, diagnosis and treatment. Equipment and workshop sessions to help solve problems experienced by members.


SDA is endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient.

A Board of Directors manages SDA.

Each state has a Branch Committee consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and several committee members.
